In the unlikely event that you are taken ill during your time here you’ll be pleased to know that
there is a doctors surgery each Monday at noon and a Nurse’s surgery on Thursdays at 10am in
our Parish Hall. Our local doctors surgery is the Upwell Health Centre, approx 6 miles away.

Littleport (Approx 6 Miles)
This is the nearest small town and in the Main Street you will find a bank, Post Office, chemist,
small supermarket, newsagent/convenience stores, ironmongers, barber, butchers, bakers,
jewellery/gift shop, fishing tackle shop and hairdressers. A small market is held every Tuesday
in the car park of the Crown public house. Fast food is well catered for in the town with the
following available: English restaurant, Littleport community cafe, tea shop, 2 fish and chip
shops, Chinese take-away, kebab house (also makes pizzas), an Indian restaurant (take out
available), a Chinese restaurant (take out available), three public houses also serve food.
Ely (Approx 10 miles away)
Within this historic cathedral town, the main shops are located in the High Street, Market Street,
Forehill, Market Square area and the Cloisters Shopping Centre with a major supermarket &
Bowling Alley a short walk away. Ely has a variety of small and diverse shops covering all aspects
of the regular shopper and the tourist's needs. NB: Many Shops observe early closing on Tuesday.
Thursday is Market Day and there is a popular Crafts Market on Saturday, both are held on the
Market Square. Car Parks in Ely are free and close to the Centre and Cathedral.
Downham Market (Approx 11 miles away)
Downham Market has a smaller shopping centre with a choice of supermarkets and a selection of
speciality shops, ample free parking plus a large number of banks & building societies.
Early closing is on Wednesdays. Market days are Friday & Saturday.
Wisbech (Approx 13 miles away)
Market Day is held here twice a week, Thursday and Saturday. You can find the usual types of
goods you would expect to find. As far as shops are concerned, the Market Place has a few big
name chain stores and numerous banks and building societies You can also find an equal
amount of small local businesses. There is also the shopping centre, which has its own free
two-storey car park. A good day out can be had at Elgoods Brewery, Wisbech. They have been
brewing real ales for over 200 years. They run their tours on Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays
from May – September.
